Worship at St. John's

Ours is a worship that joins head with heart. Each Sunday we gather to continue this ongoing conversation with God. Holding onto both the Bible and the daily paper, we share celebrations and concerns for ourselves and for our world. Ministry moments invite us to live out our faith giving shelter to homeless families through the Lubbock Inter-Faith Hospitality Network or advocating for families with the West Texas Organizing Strategy, among others.

On any given Sunday, you may hear our choir sing a Bach chorale or a Zulu anthem accompanied by drums. The children may be ringing bells or a Tech student may be playing an original piece on guitar. Through scripture and prayer, through music and sermon, we are shaped in God’s image and strengthened for ministries of justice and mercy. Worship is central to who we are as the people of St. John’s.
